Anyone else use AquaDoc Algaecide? Quick question about reapplying

Hey all,
I used AquaDoc’s algaecide this season and I’ve gotta say, it worked way better than I expected. My pool stayed algae-free for weeks, even through some heavy rain and hot days. The bottle says it lasts up to 90 days, but I’m wondering... do you guys usually wait the full 3 months before reapplying, or do you do a light maintenance dose earlier just to be safe?

Curious what others do. Thanks!

I've been using their Algaecide too, and it’s worked great. My pool’s stayed clear even with all the heat and rain. I just let it run the full 90 days like the bottle says, and so far no need for a top-off. But I do keep an eye on things just in case.

AquaDoc's Algaecide is a solid choice, especially if you're dealing with consistent algae growth. From my experience, if you're in an area with heavy rainfall or a lot of swimmers, you might need to consider reapplying a little earlier than the full 90 days to ensure you're staying ahead of any algae growth. However, if your pool is staying clear and you're following the manufacturer's instructions, it's usually safe to wait the full duration. If you’re concerned about any possible algae growth, applying a light dose halfway through the cycle can help without over-treating your pool.

I’ve started using a weekly algae check—if I see any green tint or film, I dose a light touch of algaecide rather than following the full-90-day schedule. Cuts chemical use and keeps the pool safe.

I check phosphates and clean my filter every two weeks—low phosphate levels let the algaecide last the full 90 days. Testing for phosphates before reapply can save you from extra dosing

Instead of a fixed timeline, I do a quick clarity check twice a week if I notice even a faint green haze or loss of sparkle, I dose a half-strength algaecide treatment immediately. Cuts chemical use and stops blooms before they start.

I treat my pool like a lazy gardener every 45 days I sneak in a mini algaecide ‘snack’ instead of waiting the full 90. Keeps the green at bay without a big dose, and I get bonus peace of mind whenever I dive in!

I mark my calendar for 90 days but keep a ‘rainy week’ rule if we get a ton of rain or a pool party marathon, I give it a small boost no matter what the calendar says

Love all these suggestions! I’ve also read that if you’re using AquaDoc’s algaecide, it’s good to test the pool for phosphates regularly, since they can feed algae and make the treatment less effective. Anyone else monitoring phosphate levels alongside the algaecide treatment?

I’ve used AquaDoc too and honestly, I was a bit skeptical at first because we get a lot of rain, but my pool stayed clear with no algae for weeks. I usually wait until I’m close to the 90-day mark before reapplying. If there’s rain or strong winds, I just check the pool, and if it’s still clear, I leave it. But sometimes, just to be safe, I’ll add a small maintenance dose before the 3 months are up
