How do you keep leaves out of the pool?

Lol, I feel this so much. woke up the other day and there were branches in my pool, not just leaves 😩. No idea what’s going on lately, either the wind’s gone wild or the trees have it out for me.

Been skimming every morning like it’s part of my workout now. Might have to cave and get one of those leaf nets that go over the whole surface. Has anyone tried those?

Every morning it’s like a forest fell into my pool overnight.
Man, I feel your pain. I’ve got trees nearby too and it’s a daily battle. A leaf net cover overnight helps a ton it’s way easier to pull off a net than scoop a hundred leaves. Also, I run my skimmer basket early in the morning before everything sinks to the bottom.

Same here, tons of trees. I installed a leaf catcher on my skimmer line and it made life easier. And honestly, daily skimming is just part of the routine. If it’s bad seasonally, I throw a mesh cover on the pool overnight to catch the worst of it.

I just deal with it every morning 😂 but adding a leaf net helped cut my work in half. I also moved my robotic cleaner’s schedule to run early in the morning before we swim. But yeah, if you’ve got trees, it’s kind of a never-ending battle.

I think my pool's just auditioning for a role as a nature documentary. Every morning it’s like, “And here, we see the majestic leaf, floating across the water...” At this point, I’m just waiting for the trees to start charging rent for the space they’re taking up! Anyone else feel like they’re starring in a wildlife show?

Totally get where you’re coming from, I used to think my backyard turned into a tree protest every night 😂. What helped me (besides the usual skimming) was planting a little hedge line between the pool and the trees. Sounds like overkill, but it acts like a mini windbreak and catches a surprising amount of junk before it even hits the water.

Also, this might sound silly, but I started keeping a cheap outdoor broom right by the edge of the pool. In the morning, before stuff even hits the water, I just sweep the deck quickly, it takes like 2 mins and saves me from scooping wet leaves later. Not perfect, but it helped cut down the mess without going full high-maintenance.

I zip around the pool with a cordless leaf blower for 5 minutes before skimming—blows most debris to one corner so the net only takes two sweeps. Cuts my morning cleanup in half.

I keep a big patio broom right by the pool quick sweep around the edge in the morning keeps half the leaves out before they even hit the water.

I totally get it! I woke up one morning to find a whole branch in my pool not even leaves anymore! I started using a mesh net overnight and it’s been a lifesaver. Sure, I still do a quick skim in the morning, but it’s a lot easier with less junk to scoop out. Honestly, I think the trees are in on it every time I finish cleaning, they drop even more!
