You can use enzyme treatments instead of heavy clarifiers or shock. They break down body oils, lotions and other organics naturally. I switched to a weekly enzyme dose a few months ago and my water stays way clearer with less sanitizer use.I’ve been trying to cut down on using too many chemicals in my hot tub. The water is slightly cloudy right now and I’d rather not shock it unless absolutely needed. Is there a natural or less harsh way to clear up the water without affecting balance or comfort?
Try using a natural clarifier made from chitosan it’s derived from shells and works great for collecting small particles. I add it after heavy use weekends and my water clears overnight. No harsh residue or smell either.I’ve been trying to cut down on using too many chemicals in my hot tub. The water is slightly cloudy right now and I’d rather not shock it unless absolutely needed. I’ve used baking soda to help stabilize pH when I want to avoid chemical swings. Also rinsing suits without detergent and asking everyone to shower first helps more than you’d think. Most cloudiness comes from stuff we bring in not the water itself.I’ve been trying to cut down on using too many chemicals in my hot tub.
