Lost power during backwash, pool looks awful now.

We had a power cut right in the middle of a backwash cycle. When power came back, the pool water turned cloudy and the pressure gauge is jumping all over the place. Did I mess something up or just bad timing?
 
I’d bet the outage cut the cycle so you skipped RINSE that blows fines back to the pool and makes it cloudy. I’d shut the pump off, run RINSE to WASTE for 30–60 sec, then BACKWASH until clear, bleed the air at the filter, and switch back to FILTER. Make sure the multiport is fully seated and never move it with the pump on. If the gauge still jumps, it’s usually air or a gunked gauge flush/replace it.
