Upgraded to LED pool lights didn’t expect this difference.

We finally swapped out our old incandescent pool light for an LED model this season. I expected it to be brighter and more efficient but what surprised me most was how much it changed the whole backyard vibe at night.
For those who’ve upgraded lighting did you stick with basic white or go with color changing? Any long term regrets or things to watch for?

We went with color changing and honestly use it more than I thought we would. Holidays, parties even just different moods it’s fun having options.

I stayed with bright white. I like the clean classic look. The biggest upgrade for me was energy savings and not having to replace bulbs as often.

Only advice is make sure the seal and niche are in good shape during install. I’ve seen people upgrade the light but ignore the housing and that can cause issues later.

Good point on the housing. We had ours inspected during the swap just to be safe. We went with color changing and I have to admit, it’s pretty fun.
