We added floating LED lights. They were cheap and made night swimming way more fun.I don’t want to do a big remodel, but I’m thinking about a small upgrade to make our pool more enjoyable. What’s one simple thing you added that made a big difference?
A shaded umbrella near the pool helped a lot. It gives people a break from the sun without leaving the pool area.I don’t want to do a big remodel, but I’m thinking about a small upgrade to make our pool more enjoyable. What’s one simple thing you added that made a big difference?
A waterproof Bluetooth speaker changed everything for us. Music makes the pool feel like a hangout spot.I don’t want to do a big remodel, but I’m thinking about a small upgrade to make our pool more enjoyable. What’s one simple thing you added that made a big difference?
From what Nathan Parker mentioned about water that actually feels good, I think that’s the most underrated upgrade. I used to focus on lights and decor, but what really keeps people in the pool is clear, comfortable water even when bather load is high. Once I stayed consistent with balance and made sure circulation was solid, the water stopped turning dull or smelling off the next day. For me that small shift made a big difference because people naturally stayed in longer without even realizing why.For us it was way smaller and less flashy than lights or speakers, keeping the water feeling good so people actually stayed in. The problem we kept running into was parties or even normal weekends where the pool looked fine, but after a higher bather load the water would start feeling a little dull or cloudy by the next day. Nothing gross, just enough that people hesitated to jump back in.
What fixed that was getting more consistent with enzymes instead of reacting after things looked bad. I started using aquadoc natural spa enzyme once a week, especially during heavy use periods, and it made a noticeable difference. It breaks down the sunscreen, body oils, and that invisible gunk that chlorine doesn’t catch. Filter pressure stayed more stable, and I wasn’t chasing pH drift as much either.
Result was the pool felt “ready” more often. People stayed in longer, kids jumped back in the next day without me doing a full cleanup, and it honestly made the pool feel more fun because it wasn’t this thing I had to reset all the time. Not exciting like LEDs, but comfort keeps people in the water, which is kind of the whole point. Anyone else notice the pool gets used way more when it just feels clean without effort?
