Why does debris always collect in the same corner?

No matter how often I skim or vacuum leaves and dirt always end up in the same corner of the pool. The rest of the pool stays pretty clean but that spot fills up fast especially after a windy day. Is this just bad luck or something with circulation?

That’s almost always a circulation thing. Water follows the same patterns every day so debris settles where flow is weakest. Try adjusting your return jets to push water toward that corner instead of away from it.

I had the same issue and fixed most of it by slightly angling one return downward. It helped keep debris suspended longer so it could make its way to the skimmer instead of dropping right away.

You might also look at pump run times. Short cycles can let debris settle before it ever reaches the skimmer. Longer daytime runs helped even things out in my pool.

Makes sense. I haven’t touched the return angles since the pool was installed. I’ll try tweaking those and see if it helps with that dead spot. Appreciate the help.
