Why does my filter pressure rise even after I clean it?

I clean my cartridge filter and the pressure drops like it should but after just a few days it climbs back up again. The pool looks clear, so I’m confused why the pressure keeps rising so fast. Am I missing something?

Even if the water looks clear fine debris can still clog the filter. Pollen and dust can raise pressure pretty quickly.

Check your skimmer and pump baskets too. If they’re dirty it can restrict flow and make the pressure go up.

Sometimes oils and sunscreen stick to the cartridges. A deep soak with a filter cleaner works better than just rinsing with a hose.

That makes sense. I’ve only been rinsing it not soaking it. I’ll try a proper cleaner this time. Thanks everyone.

I’ve had this happen too. Even if the water looks clear, fine dust or sunscreen can still clog the filter. I usually soak the cartridge with a proper cleaner so the pressure doesn’t climb back up so fast.
